About us

Interdisciplinary, connected and practice-oriented

AT-Verband and its members have more than 30 years of experience in development cooperation and many years of experience in research and project development.

Thanks to its multidisciplinary team and its network of consultants, research institutions and international organisations, AT-Verband is able to assemble task forces for various tasks and to develop and implement adapted solutions in close cooperation with local partners.

AT-Verband is an association of around 30 independent researchers, consultants, trainers, institutes and consulting companies and has been registered in Germany as a non-profit association since 1988.

Focus areas

Core competences of the association

The members of the association mainly work as consultants for various German and international organisations. Their tasks range from short-term planning and evaluation assignments to research, capacity development and periodic backstopping, right through to the full implementation of development and other cooperation programmes.

Network

National and international cooperation

AT-Verband maintains a lively exchange with various national and international organisations working on adapted technologies, environment, development and research.

Through the AT-Verband network and the project work, a broad range of established national and international contacts exists, including organisations such as UN-Habitat Nairobi, which has been actively involved in ongoing projects for several years.

The association office in Stuttgart supports networking, applies for and manages projects, and handles external relations.

Admission is decided as part of the annual members’ meeting.

Directions

Waldburgstraße 96 can be reached on foot from Stuttgart-Vaihingen station in about 15 minutes.

By public transport

From the main station: Take the S-Bahn (green sign); if required, buy a 1-zone ticket at the ticket machine. From track 101, take S1 (towards Herrenberg), S2 (towards Filderstadt) or S3 (towards Airport/Fair) to Stuttgart-Vaihingen. Turn left in front of the station building, walk past the bike service station and the car parks, and follow Waldburgstraße to No. 96.

From the airport: Take the S-Bahn (green sign) with a 2-zone ticket on line S2 (towards Schorndorf) or S3 (towards Backnang) to Stuttgart-Vaihingen. Then turn left in front of the station building, continue into Waldburgstraße and walk about 15 minutes to No. 96.

By car

Take motorway A8 and exit at Stuttgart-Vaihingen. In Stuttgart-Vaihingen, follow Hauptstraße past the ARAL and Esso petrol stations. At the next junction, turn right into Krehlstraße, continue past the lake and keep straight for about 200 metres to the next larger junction. Turn right there into Waldburgstraße; after a few metres you will reach No. 96.
